North of the Great Himalayan range, amongst a tangled knot of jagged mountains, lies a rugged and fascinating land, the once independent kingdom of Zanskar. Sandwiched between the Indus Valley and the main crest of the Indian Himalaya, this remote and inaccessible setting, well guarded by snowy mountain passes, has kept alive an archaic form of Tibetan Buddhism which flourishes in chain of far-flung monasteries, most of which occupy spectacular fortified locations, high on rocky ridges in isolated valleys

Itinerary:

Day – 01 – Leh – Photoksar
Morning drive to Photoksar en route visit the Alchi Gonpa. Then proceed to Photksar over the Sir Sir La 4800mt. Overnight at Camp.

Day – 02 – Photoksar – Sengge La Base
Morning after breakfast Trek to Sengge La Base 5-6hrs walk over the Bumitse La 4200 mt. Overnight at Camp

Day – 03 – Sengge La Base – Gongma(3490mt) 
Morning after breakfast Trek to Gongma 6-7hrs walk . Over the Sengge La Pass 5000mt and Kyukpa La 3850mt.

Day – 04 – Gongma – Lingshed
Morning trek to Lingshed. This is option for the trekker if they want to camp at Lingshed 3hrs walk over the Morgon La4100mt. Overnight at Camp

Day – 05 – Lingshed – Hanamul La Base
Morning Trek to Hanamul La Base 3-4hrs walk. Camp

Day – 06 – Hanamul La Base – Zhingchen
Morning Trek to Zhingchen 6-7hrs walk. From base to Hanamul La pass (4700mt) -2hr: 45minute approximately. Overnight at Camp

Day – 07 – Zhingchen – Hanamur Village
Morning Trek to Hanamur village 5-6hrs walk. Over the Parfila Pass3900 -1hr: 45minute up to pass. Overnight at Camp

Day – 08 – Hanamur – Pishu -Karsha-Padum
Morning after breakfast Trek to Pishu 5-6hrs walk. Then drive to Karsha/Padum.

Day – 09 – Padum – Day -10 – Padum – Day -11 – Padum – Sankoo/Kargil
Morning after breakfast drive to Sankoo / Kargil over the Penzila Pass 14000ft. This is the highest pass between Padum and Kargil road.

Day – 12 – Sankoo/Kargil – Leh
Morning after breakfast drive to Leh 235km en route visit the Mulbeck Chamba and Lamayuru Gonpa.
